Miami, FL – Our Miami, Florida negligent security lawyers know how quickly a family can be devastated when violent crime strikes. That’s what happened just this week in Miami when a family, including five small children, lost a young mother due to a senseless, late night shooting. According to a Miami police detective, 25 year old Lakisha Lampley was shot and killed by an assailant in a neighboring car as she left a nightclub just east of Miami International Airport. Her cousin, also in the car, tried to stop the bleeding by holding her hand to Lampley’s chest as the young mother expired on the drive to the hospital.
Night clubs, especially those referred to as “after hours” clubs are notorious venues for violent crimes ranging from rape to murder. An all too familiar scenario begins with a verbal altercation in a night club and ends with a deadly shooting in the parking lot just outside. Often inadequate or negligent security is a significant contributing factor.
At this time, no arrests have been made, but a family is still reeling from the wrongful death, including five children between the ages of 9 months to ten years old.
